JASDF Gifu airshow

Gifu air base is home to experimental flight squadron where JASDF aircraft and equipment are being tested.
As the squadron has major types of aircraft including F-1, F-2, F-4, F-15, T-2, T-3 and T-4 you will be able to see the mix aircraft formation in flight as well as prototype and experimental aircraft/equipment on static display.
Sometimes a very rare F-15 and T-3 (modified T-34 Mentor) formation can also be seen.
If you live in Nagoya area or have plans to visit Nagoya area in Japan, the trip to Gifu airshow will be an interesting attraction.

C-1 F-4 F-15 T-2 T-4 Mix formation
A mix formation of of JASDF Air Development and Test Wing aircraft, very unique to Gifu base.
Lead aircraft is C-1 prototype (28-1001)
followed by T-2 early versiion, F-4EJ Kai, F-15J, T-4.
Last aircraft with smoke generator is Ex-Blue Impulse T-2 late version, 99-5163.

XF-2 Prototype
F-2 - ground attack and fighter support aircraft based on F-16 but with larger fuselage, 2 piece canopy and composite wings.
This is a prototype of the two seater version, XF-2B 63-0003

KV-107 Hover
KV-107IIA-5 Vertol, of JASDF Air Rescue Wing/Training Sqn, 54-4837 take off and makes low pass before returning to its base.

E-2 takeoff
Grumman E-2C Hawkeye of JASDF 601 Sqn, Bu.161401 / 34-3452 takes off to return to Misawa air base.
