Tachikawa is the only airshow held in Tokyo with actual flight demonstration.
The main focus of this base and airshow is disaster rescue, and not only the JGSDF but helicopters and fixed wing aircraft from the police, fire department and Japan Coast Guard perform in the rescue demo.
