Visiting Matsuhsima airshow is a gamble. Due to its geographical location, Matsushima air base tends to receive thick sea fog during summer months when the air show is held. I have visited Matsushima zirshow 5 times in the past, but 2 times all the flights (except the helicopter demo) were canceled because of the dense fog. At one time it was also foggy but it was possible to do a low show. In December 1995 I made my visit to Matsushima, this time it is not an airshow but the last flight of T-2 Blue Impulse took place and it was open to public. Although it was extremely chilly and windy, the sky was very beautiful and finally I was able to take a beautiful photo of T-2 blue impulse at Matsushima.

Photo taken during cloudy day airshow. My location. when the photo was taken, is not the show center but on a lawn where Matsushima based Ex- Blue Impulse T-2 later model, retaining the paint scheme, passes overhead and breaks formation.

T-2 blue impulse cross each other after the upward bombburst break. It was really HOT that day.

Photo taken during the T-2 Blue Impulse's very last flight. Winter's dry, windy sky provides better opportunity than foggy, hazy summer.
